OPEN POST is a website dedicated to the discovery of new artistic talent by giving aspiring artists an opportunity to submit and publish their work online. OPEN POST allows industry insiders, as well as everyday members of the online community, to discover and help cultivate the creativity and abilities of the next generation of artists. All submitted works (animation, illustrations, screenplays, etc.) are based in the field of animation and comics.

Using existing materials/work

By using OPEN POST, aspiring artist are given the opportunity to not only submit original work, but also to create work based on the existing materials (characters, stories, logo designs, art direction, etc.) of several prominent artists who have given OPEN POST members permission to use their work. The OPEN POST site is a wonderful environment for aspiring artists with a true desire to create amazing work, allowing them to draw inspiration from Theme Artists' work, display their creative abilities, and give industry executives and businesses a chance to view their work in terms of potential commercial opportunities.

Creation of work based on Theme Artist's work

By using the work and materials of Theme Artists found on the OPEN POST site, members have the freedom to re-arrange the animation or comic characters, the stories, the logo designs, and the art direction, even completely change the presentation. Feel free to browse the current list of Theme Artists. Please note, however, that regarding the use of the Theme Writer's work, the usage policy and limitations are different depending on the writer and the work in question. Make sure that any work you wish to use or submit to the site falls into the category of acceptable material, the use of which has been authorized by the Theme Artist.

Submission and Acceptance Guidelines

Acceptable materials/works are as follows:

1. Applicant's original works. Animation, comics, illustrations, screenplays/scripts. Both previously published and unpublished works by an artist are accepted.
2. Original animation, comics, illustrations, screenplays/scripts, commercial design, and character design based on material provided to OPEN POST by the Theme Artists (characters, stories, logo designs, art direction, etc.).

Only the work outlined in (2) above that is displayed on the site is authorized by the Theme Artist right holders to use specific materials. As such, please be aware that presentation or display other than on the site is not permitted.

Submission Guidelines

Sex, age, and nationality pretermission. It doesn’t matter if you are a professional or an amateur. Please be aware that, while the terms and conditions allow anyone to submit work, all work must pass through a review process before being posted on the site, and in some cases work that is deemed unacceptable will not be posted or published.

Period of opening to the public

Works will be opened to the public until March 31, 2009.

As a rule, we accept data submissions.In order to post data, user registration is required.
Please refer to the "Submissions Manual" for detailed instructions on how to post data. In addition, submissions not in digital form can be sent directly to the OPEN POST office, where our staff will convert it into digital form and post it to the site. However, this only applies to illustrations (caricatures, etc.)

File format and Posting Limits

In order to submit work, please follow the guidelines laid out in the “Submissions Manual”.
All illustrations must be in .jpeg format. Videos can be submitted in the following formats: .mpeg, .mov, .avi, .flv, .wmv, as well as Flash (swf).
After receipt, all video file submissions will be converted into .flv format.
Please post any text directly into the form designed for text submissions.
File capacity is limited to 30MB per file.
